About K5ARC
The Ascension Amateur Radio Club, located in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, is a group of amateur radio operators, or “Hams”, who share common goals. These include promotion of the “art” of radio, public service, disaster relief, and technical innovation.
The AARC operates a group of repeaters in the Ascension Parish area; These repeaters are open to all licensed amateur radio operators at this time. Club membership is greatly suggested and appreciated if using the machines. The primary repeater is 147.225+ Mhz, with a 107.2 Pl tone. We also operate the 146.985- repeater with a 107.2 Pl, 145.310- with a 107.2 Pl tone, 444.725+ with a 107.2 PL tone and a 144.390 APRS Digi.
The AARC meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM. Check the home page for location. There is a talk in on the 147.225 repeater. We also have two weekly nets, one on the 147.225 repeater, Thursday nights at 8:00 PM and one on the 145.310 repeater, Saturday nights at 9:00 PM.
